Back to (Spin) Basics

I’m feeling a bit of déjà vu. I had a spin lesson just last week, and my coach wanted me to go back to spin basics. She wanted me to execute things like:

  • 15+ revolutions in a forward camel spin
  • 10+ revolutions in a backward camel spin
  • 20+ revolutions in a forward sit spin
  • 15+ revolutions in a backward sit spin

Sound familiar? In fact, it seems eerily similar to the spin pyramid from my old coach (see image below).

My coach’s philosophy is that if I can consistently achieve these number of revolutions in basic positions, then I should be able to execute difficult variations.

Message delivered. Time to go brush up on my basic spins and try to achieve these goals!

    That’s 60+ revolutions total! Man, just thinking about it makes me dizzy!J
