Crossfoot Spin

I learned a new spin recently. It’s called a crossfoot spin. It starts off in a backspin position and then you bring the free foot down onto the ice so you’re spinning on two outside edges. With the IJS rules, I have to make sure I hit at least 2-3 revolutions for it to count.

This photo was taken after one of my initial attempts after my first lesson on it. Not bad huh? Most of it is pretty centered, so that makes me happy!

Crossfoot spin

I am a clockwise skater so my spin is initiated from the blade markings in the bottom right hand corner.

How are your spins coming along?

Ooooh, that is one dandy spin tracing! Picture-worthy! I bet you were going really fast by the end!

Actually, I came to a complete halt! I get stuck and have to find a way to get unstuck! 😝
