Shoot the Ducks
Happy 4th of July! I can’t believe it’s been about 6 weeks since I injured my knee.
I am now on week 4 of physical therapy and am happy to report that things are slowly improving. I can now go into a squat position (standing on the floor) without pain. My therapist even gave me clearance to start trying shoot-the-ducks on the ice. I tried a few this week, and it didn’t hurt. Check it out!
We’re going to hold off on sit spins for a while because the force from the spinning motion is still causing some pain, so we’ll ease into that slowly.
All in all, I should be healed in 6-8 weeks (from the start of therapy). My therapist gave me the green light to go ahead and register for our local competition in September, so that makes me happy.
I feel like I am at least 50% of the way to a full recovery. I hope the remaining 50% goes by quickly. If the pain doesn’t go away in another 2 weeks, I’ll need to go back to the knee doctor. I’m really hoping that I won’t have to do that.
