Passed: Adult 21+ Junior Skating Skills
One month typically flies by in the blink of an eye, but not while waiting for the outcome of a virtual skating skills test. I filmed my Adult 21+ Junior Skating skills test in late February and got the test results back in late March (exactly one month later).
Guess what – I passed by all 3 judges! This is actually my second attempt at the test. I filmed the first one in early December, and got a Retry from all of the judges. They commented that while my edges were correct, I needed more power and flow.
So, that’s what I worked on. I was obsessed. In fact, I prioritized this over my free skate program so that I could get this test strong enough to try again. Then we filmed. And waited. And waited some more.
I was ecstatic to learn the news and couldn’t stop saying “Oh my gosh oh my gosh” to myself. I did it! I passed! And with a unanimous panel! Two of the three judges on this panel failed me the first time, so I am happy that I made enough progress to garner a passing grade this time.
Onto Senior!
