Adult Sectionals Recap – Part 2

2026 Adult Sectionals

On Saturday morning, my pairs partner and I had practice ice at 7:35am. Since there were only 2 teams competing in pairs during the entire competition, there were only 4 skaters on our ice (including ourselves). We managed to not run into each other and somehow survived.

After practice ended, we had 45 minutes until our event began. I changed out of my practice clothes, changed into my competition dress, and I applied my makeup. Once that was done, I had about 10 minutes remaining until it was time to skate.

The Championship Masters Pairs team skated first. Then it was our turn to take the ice. The program seemed to go fairly well, and we even ended on time.

After we took our final bows, we staged a Mortal Kombat-like “fight” on the ice where we pretended to punch each other. Then, our skating bestie K yelled, “FINISH HIM!” while I delivered a final (fake) punch to knock my partner down. I skated away from him and left him. (I am hoping the official video captures these shenanigans)

Since we were the only entry in our event, we won the gold medal. 🙂

Here is an unofficial video that my dear friend A captured. Hope you enjoy it!

Part 3 coming next week…
