Willow Waltz – Passed!

On my birthday last week, my dance coach and I videoed the Willow Waltz for a virtual test. I had asked her if she thought I should take this at the standard level or switch to Adult 21+ (which is easier, since the passing standard is slightly lower). She suggested I try standard, since I had passed all my previous dance tests at the standard track. Once we got stuck, then I could consider switching to the Adult track.

We filmed this test a total of 3 times. The first one was fast and flowy, but I wasn’t able to properly bring my feet together close enough on the 3-turn. The second video got cut off unexpectedly in the middle of the second pattern, so we weren’t able to submit that one. The final attempt was the one we sent in, and it is below.

Although I worked on bringing my feet together on the 3-turn in practice, I can see that I still had a bit of a wide step. In addition, the progressives that followed immediately after were a bit wonky. Definitely things I will need to work on for future dances!

However, I passed this at standard track with a 0, +2, and a -2.

Onto the Ten Fox (and my final Bronze level dance)!
