Hickory Hoedown – Passed!
About two weeks ago, my coach and I filmed my Hickory Hoedown. It had been feeling pretty good, so we made the decision to go ahead and test this dance. We ended up filming it twice. The first pass was good, but my extensions were lacking so we tried it again. The second time, the extensions were better but I had a minor slip on a 3-turn in the corner of the rink. We decided to submit the second video and hoped that the flub on the 3-turn wouldn’t be major enough for a Retry.
Well, I passed! Two out of the three judges passed me, while the third gave me a -3. Yikes! I did take these at the standard level, so they were not giving me any grace for being an old lady. I’m thrilled to have passed this dance and have two more to go in in the Bronze level (Willow Waltz and Ten Fox). I’d love to get those test-ready soon.
