Waiting…

Two weeks ago, I completed the requirements for a potential Pre-Silver test judge appointment. I needed to trial judge 30 total tests (I did about 60) and maintain a minimum passing average. In addition, I needed to trial at least 2 in-person test sessions.
I traveled to a rink about 2 hours away to fulfill my second in-person test session requirement and was able to maintain my passing average. After the test chair submitted my papers online, I was able to complete an application for my potential appointment.
The form said that it could take up to 60 days to hear a decision. I’ve been waiting patiently for 2 weeks and hope that I don’t need to wait another 4. 😂
I’m hoping that I will hear some (good) news soon! 🤞🏻
I’m sure you will succeed, Eva! You always give it your all & you will be rewarded. Keep up the grit and determination! Love, Mom Lu

Thank you! Your support means the world to me! ❤️
I would love to see a post about the trial judging process! I’m considering it; I live in an area with very few judges, our club has to buy plane tickets for the majority of the panel just to constitute an in-person test session, and the next closest rinks are 2-3 hrs away. I want to keep skating/ideally competing as an adult, but tbh I could give up the competing side if needed as it’s not my favorite part anyway, I just do it to see what the tech panel will think of my elements. And I don’t currently coach besides occasionally subbing LTS, so that’s not a big factor.

Great idea! I’ll write something up in the coming weeks and share more about my journey.
