Gold on Ice – Part 2

Deanna Stellato-Dudek - Gold on Ice
With World Champion pairs skaters Deanna Stellato-Dudek

After the Gold on Ice show was over, I was ecstatic. My adrenaline was pumping, and I was trying to get over the fact that I had just met some World and Olympic medalists. How much better can you get than that? Turns out, much better.

I ran into some fellow adult skaters after the show, and we were able to get a quick photo together (I did not include that here because I did not procure permission from them to post their picture). It was good seeing them, since I normally only run into these folks at competitions.

Keegan Messing - Gold on Ice
The one and only Keegan Messing! (He’s a two-time Olympian, two-time Grand Prix medalist and two-time Canadian national champion!)

I asked my friends if they were willing to hang back after the show to see if we would be able to meet some of the other skaters that we didn’t get to talk to in the tunnel area. Thankfully, they all agreed. While we were waiting around, we learned that there was an official meet-and-greet for the event. Unfortunately, we did not have tickets to this, so we were disappointed. But, I would have left happy at this point.

Madison Chock and Evan Bates - Gold on Ice
Two-time World Champions in dance, Madison Chock and Evan Bates

However, we were able to procure passes to the meet and greet! A lady never tells her secrets, so I cannot share our strategy, But, we were able to go to the VIP area and meet ALL of the skaters!

Isabeau Levito - Gold on Ice

We left the show feeling like we were on cloud 9. Our notebooks and show programs were full of autographs from the event, and we got some great photos with the skaters. It was an amazing time, and one that I will absolutely cherish!

PS – The entire show is available on YouTube in case you want to watch (it’s free)!
