New Year, New Jump Entries

We in the midst of choreographing my new program (more info coming later), and my coach asked me if I could execute some new transitions into the axel.

The first one she had me try was an Ina Bauer to a forward inside rocker to a change of edge. While I did not do a great job of it here, you get the gist:

I’m hoping to smooth this out a bit, as the inside rocker is still a bit choppy at the moment. I have to cheat it by using my right toe pick to push off onto the forward inside edge after the Ina Bauer.

The other entry is an assisted fan-kick type of spiral (is there an official name to this?). I’ve been working on stretching more so that I can get that free leg higher, but I am hoping that one day I won’t need to hold onto my leg. At the moment, I am holding onto it for dear life!

I really like that spiral entrance and the axel looked very smooth!

Thanks so much, Jo! I’m working on extending that spiral even higher. 🙂
