2023 Skating Goals

2023 goals

I am back this week to write out my 2023 skating goals. I don’t plan on competing much this season so I won’t have anything related to competition in here. Instead, I want to focus on other aspects of the sport.

Here we go!

  1. Pass Novice Moves in the Field. Because I haven’t been working much on my program this year, I have shifted my focus towards moves. I know I can pass this and want to be able to achieve this.
  2. Build my spin repertoire. I want to keep working on new spins so that I can potentially include them in a future freestyle program.
  3. Strengthen skating skills. I want to feel more comfortable on the ice, especially with difficult turns at full speed. My coach and I hope that working on the Moves in the Field elements will help with this.
  4. Properly execute a pairs death spiral. My pairs partner and I got close this year but our technique and timing are still not in synch. Maybe this will be the year we finally do it properly!

What are your goals for 2023, skating or otherwise?

I am catching up on your entries so am not providing spoilers. But I know you will have success on at least one of these 🙂
