New Jump Technique
My coach and I have been slowly tweaking my jump technique. One thing he noticed about my flip jump was that I entered it with a severely bent leg and rammed my toe pick into the ice pretty violently. Then, I would force myself to jump up after that. Sounds a bit harsh, but he wasn’t wrong.
We have been working on stretching my free leg out, keeping it straighter and gently placing my toe pick into the ice before I vault off of it into the air.
You be the judge – how does this look? I noticed that I am getting better flow out of the jump now, so that’s an improvement.
