Take Two
It’s not often in life that you get a second chance. In the world of virtual testing, we lucked out.
Last week, we filmed our Adult Silver Pairs test. In fact, we videoed two full run-throughs and were going to pick the better of the two to send in. Unfortunately, after we reviewed the video, we noticed that the video did not meet the requirements. See, we had failed to capture a date and time stamp on the video. As a result, we had to re-film the test in its entirety.
Due to adulting, work schedules and life, we had to wait a full week to re-skate our test. Thankfully, we were able to film this during a pretty empty freestyle session. We were worried that it would be busy since it was the day of our home competition. Thankfully, the out of town visitors were not there yet so there were only a handful of us on the ice.
During our practice, we kept messing up. We couldn’t get our footwork or transitions right. And I may have gotten dropped once (not on my butt, but we fell out of a lift). It didn’t feel like a good warmup at all.
However, when we decided to film our test, everything went pretty smoothly. It went so well, in fact, that we only did one attempt. We had all the appropriate witnesses sign our paperwork (videographer, coach, proctor, etc) and we turned it into the hosting club.
And now we wait! I’ll share the video (and results) after we hear back on how we did! Fingers crossed!
I really like that lift position in the first photo, Eva. What great smiles, too!

Thanks, Jo! That’s one element we can usually get right. The others… not so much. 🤣
