Spin Clinic (part 1)
Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to go to Delaware to attend a spin clinic. This was a special day for many reasons. First and most importantly, it was my niece’s 3rd birthday. She and her family (my brother and sister-in-law and my nephew) live about 15 minutes away. Since I was in town, I was able to spend some time with her and celebrate this milestone.
Second, I was able to hang out with my skating bestie for a full day. With crazy work schedules and other life commitments, I haven’t been able to spend as much time with her as I wanted. She had a milestone birthday earlier this month, and I was out of town. This trip was good because we got to talk about all of the things and laugh nonstop.
Finally, my beautiful and talented spin coach was the featured coach! She flew all the way from the Seattle area to come teach the clinic. Although I’ve worked with her for over 2 years, we have never met in person. It was such a joy to be able to hug her and learn from her face to face.
Next week I’ll share more details on what we covered at the clinic.
As a UDEL student, in the mid-1970s, I skated at the Richard Rust Ice Arena!

How cool, George! I learned to skate at the Rust Arena (early 1990s).
Looks like a whole lot for fun! Happy for you, Eva!

It was a blast!
How fun that you finally met your spin coach in person! It’s amazing to know that we can do that now!

Technology is so amazing! I am grateful to have had the ability to learn remotely – even before the pandemic started. 😄
How fun, I didn’t know you were a native Delawarean! I actually didn’t start skating until I moved to California as an adult, but my little sis still skates at UD 🙂

So cool – Although Delaware is a small state, I keep meeting more and more people from there or go/went to school there!
