A Personal Best {Video}

In mid-February, I skated at an adult competition. Much to my delight and surprise, I scored a personal best! Well, then I got docked 1 full point because my tiara fell off! I wish I was kidding…

Take a look at the video below and see if you can spot a flying tiara during the second spin. I believe it fell off right after I changed feet into my back sit spin with the twist feature.

Despite this comedy of errors, I was happy with how I did. As you are reading this, I am getting ready to compete in the Championship Adult Gold Ladies event at my Sectionals. Twenty-five of us will be vying for the top 4 spots to represent our Section at Adult Nationals. My goal is to learn, enjoy, and have fun.

Send positive vibes please!

    Woohoo, look at you go! This program definitely suits you, Eva. You look poised and confident, and your positions are very elegant; that ballet training really shows. Good luck at Sectionals–can’t wait to hear news!

    You had a beautiful skate! I couldn’t see exactly when the tiara flew off–with my poor eyesight I’ll probably have to watch again and again. But in the future, save the tiara for those social occasions wherein the engraved invitation states that men must wear swords and medals. Build on your success and chalk the tiara up as a thing to eliminate from your costume before the next competitive outing.

      I didn’t see the tiara exodus on my video either – and I slowed it down to individual frames. Oh well. Don’t worry, I am not wearing a tiara this weekend for Sectionals!
