Single Toe Loop

I’m still having trouble with the double toe loop. For whatever reason, I have issues rotating the jump. I went back to attempting the single toe loop and focused on a few things:

  1. Keeping my head anchored so it doesn’t “peek” and whip around
  2. Fully drawing my free foot and “flicking” it on the takeoff

After watching this video, it appears that I am executing the single correctly. I am getting good distance, height and air time. Theoretically, I should be able to successfully land a double toe loop if I can maintain the mechanics. As we all know, it’s easier said than done.

On double attempts, my head moves, and my free foot doesn’t fully draw through on the takeoff. Perhaps my brain is fearful that I need to do these things in order to get rotation.

Regardless, I am just happy that the single appears to be correct. If I can just think about the double as a single with quicker rotation, then I should be good…

You make that jump look easy-peasy, Eva. Once your brain figures out that extra rotation, you’ll have that double down. Go, Eva, go!

You are too kind, Jo. I hope my brain can stop freaking out and just let the jump happen!!
