I continue to have a mental block when it comes to the sit-side spin variation. Although the sit spin is my strongest spin element, I have a bit of fear around the sit-side. The reason is because I tore my meniscus while attempting these a few summers ago. I went through 3 months of intense physical therapy.
However, after working with my coach, we tried a few different ways of attempting the sit-side variation (also known as a ‘broken leg’ sit spin). Admittedly, I know that this isn’t quite right yet, but at least it doesn’t hurt my knee.
This variation is definitely fun to try. I hope that we can find position that works for my body!
