Hi! My name is Eva, and welcome to my blog. Here are some fun things about me:
I play the flute.
I started playing in 4th grade and kept playing throughout college. In fact, I minored in flute performance. My college flute professor was a student of Sir James Galway, so I am honored to be a direct “descendant” of Sir James’ flute family tree. I used to dream about playing in the pit orchestra for a Broadway musical. Then reality hit.
I figure skate.
I first skated around 3rd or 4th grade when I attended a friend’s birthday party. I took group classes at my local rink and took a hiatus during high school and college and came back to the sport as an adult student after I graduated college. I didn’t start skating seriously until around age 26 or 27. You can find me at the rink 5-6 times a week, whether I’m practicing or teaching Learn-to-Skate. I’ve passed my Adult Gold Moves in the Field, Adult Gold Freestyle and Adult Bronze Pairs tests. I competed at my first real event at Adult Nationals in 2014 (go big or go home, right?).
I bake. My love for baking started when I was a little girl. I wanted an Easy Bake Oven, but I never received one. I guess I am making up for it now! I originally started this blog to document recipes to pass along to my daughter and now use it as motivation to try out new recipes.
I have to give a lot of props to my husband, who has the patience and willingness to watch our beautiful daughter while I test out new recipes. This blog wouldn’t be possible without his help.
My goal isn’t to become a professional chef/baker or photographer. My only hope is that you enjoy some of my cherished recipes and find some inspiration in your kitchen.
Feel free to leave me a comment below or within one of my posts. I look forward to hearing from you!
